In order to continuously enhance the cybersecurity awareness of all faculty members and strengthen the cybersecurity defenses, the faculty Party branch of the Department of Mechanical Design and Manufacturing organized a thematic learning activity for National Cybersecurity Awareness Week on the afternoon of September 11. The event was chaired by Party branch Secretary Yang Zhixian and attended by all faculty members of the department.
During the meeting, Yang Zhixian introduced the main characteristics of cybersecurity, including malware, phishing websites, phishing emails, personal information management, free Wi-Fi traps, and clearing WeChat zombie followers scams. He also led all the faculty members in studying the Cybersecurity Law of the People’s Republic of China. Following this, Yang Zhixian, using real-life cases, discussed important topics with the faculty members, such as the safe use of Wi-Fi, secure use of smartphones and payment methods, and how to prevent telephone harassment and fraud. The discussion focused on how to further enhance personal cybersecurity protection capabilities.
With the advancement of information technology and the arrival of the “5G” era, the internet has become closely intertwined with people’s lives. However, alongside the convenience it brings, there are also many traps and risks. This learning activity further enhanced the cybersecurity awareness of all faculty members and reinforced their defenses in network security for daily life, teaching, and research activities in the future.
