Echoes of Hearts, Odes to the Nation - To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, promote the spirit of great educators, and strengthen patriotic education for university students, the School of Mechanical Engineering, together with Hongjiang Academy and Zhongling Academy, held a special patriotic education event titled "Echoes of Hearts, Odes to the Nation" on September 27th. The event invited Professor Dai Liling, one of the top ten "most beloved teachers by university students" in Jiangsu Province, "top ten teachers" in Zhenjiang City, the first teaching master and moral exemplar of Jiangsu University; Professor Li Boquan, an outstanding teacher of Jiangsu University and an advanced individual in the "Three Aspects of Education" of Jiangsu University; and Professor Bao Binghao, three teachers from the Care for the Next Generation Committee, to attend. The event was hosted by Yu Weijie, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering.
At the beginning of the event, Dai Liling recounted the decades of development at Jiangsu University, guiding students to appreciate the steady progress made by the university, fueled by the continuous vitality unleashed by its teachers and students. This allowed students to more tangibly experience the vicissitudes and tremendous changes that have occurred in the country over the past few decades, inspiring a heartfelt and spontaneous sense of pride and accomplishment among them.
Li Boquan discussed how contemporary university students can plan and take action to contribute to the future development of the country. Focusing on aspects such as study, employment, and comprehensive qualities, Professor Li tirelessly instructed the students to seize the present golden opportunity, strive to improve themselves, and continuously meet the demands of the current era for young people. He encouraged them to become a dynamic, main, and reserve force that is brave in taking responsibility and persistently strives in the new era.
Finally, Bao Binghao discussed with the students the future of the mechanical industry and how to position themselves in this field. Incorporating the professional strengths of the School of Mechanical Engineering, he encouraged students to prepare themselves for working at the forefront of promoting technological progress and social development.
The event concluded with a chorus of the national anthem by teachers and students. As experienced witnesses and practitioners of the "Five Olds" (veteran cadres, senior Party members, revolutionary veterans, model workers, and advanced intellectuals), the three teachers from the Care for the Next Generation Committee shared with the young students the correctness of the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, as well as the historic achievements and transformations of the new era. This aimed to educate and guide the students to establish firm ideals and beliefs.
Through this community outreach by advanced forces, the School of Mechanical Engineering will continue to deepen its ideological and political education work in the one-stop community. It will constantly innovate methods and means of ideological and political work, leveraging the brand effect of "advanced groups entering the community" to bring Party building and ideological and political work closer to students' hearts. This effort aims to guide young students in taking their first steps in life with the right values and direction.
