Introduction to Institute of Precision Engineering

The team of precision engineeringconsists of 12 members,including 2 professors, 8 associate professors(Senior Engineers) and 2 lecturers. The certain members of the teamwas successfully selected as the first batch of cross-century academic leaders in the subordinate departments of the Ministry of machinery, the academic leaders of "blue project" cross-century of Jiangsu Province, and there are 3 training candidates for "333 project" in Jiangsu. The professional background of team members cover material science, engineering mechanics, mechanical design and manufacturing. The structure of academic, title, age are reasonable, and the research team has long-term unity and cooperation, stable and clear direction and a distinctive feature.

The research fields closelyfocus on the two major directions of the development of machinery manufacturing-precision machining and intelligent manufacturing. Based on the development of Jiangsu manufacturing,the team systematically carried out the research of burr formation mechanism and control technology in precision machining, design and manufacture of tool system, theory and inspection for high speed machining tools, theory and application of MQL and other aspects. In addition, they have undertaken 15 projects, including the project of major national science and technology, the key project of "the tenth five-year plan" for the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation, the provincial foundations, etc. The research team has published more than 250 papers, 10 monographs and textbooks, 20 authorized invention patents and 11 provincial science and technology progress awards.

There aresomeexperimental equipment in our team, including SPINNER ultra-precision CNC turning center, Mikron high-speed machining center, strong molding grinder, electric spindle and MQL system processing equipment. The detection devices include Olympus 3D digital microscope, Mitutoyo roughness, Cutpro high-speed cutting dynamics simulation system, Kislter dynamometer, Japan NEC infrared camera, digital micro hardness tester, high-speed cameras, etc. Based on these advanced research equipment and instruments, the team has created a good condition for scientific research.

1、Construction Mechanism and Control Technology of Burr in Precision Cutting

*Micro-geometrical properties, micro-structural properties, and surface hardening of precision machined surfaces

*The Mechanism of the formation of the burr in the edge, corner and edge of the workpiece in precision cutting

*Correlation between burr generation and cutting motion in metal cutting

*The unity of burr generation mechanism and removal of burr technology

*A mathematical model of burr formation and change based on elastic-plastic mechanics and fracture mechanics

*Generation and control theory of metal cutting burr

2Theory and application of tool system design, manufacture and inspection for high speed machining tools

*Research on dynamic and static characteristics of CNC system (machining center) tool system

*The mathematical - mechanics model of HSK tool holder and its tool system

*Cutting performance and evaluation theory system of precision CNC tool system

*HSK tool system dynamic balance theory and detection and evaluation index system
